Good to know

Why cold process?

People have made soap this way for about five thousand years: oils meet lye, and together they become soap and natural glycerin. We cure every bar for weeks so it's hard, long-lasting, and gentle. Most commercial "soap" is actually a detergent bar with the glycerin removed — which is why it can leave skin tight and squeaky. A cured cold-process bar keeps the glycerin where it belongs: on you.

I have sensitive skin — psoriasis, eczema, the works. Is this safe for me?

We can't give medical advice, and anyone who sells soap and says otherwise should worry you — your dermatologist is the right first stop. What we can tell you is what's not in our bars: no detergents, no synthetic dyes, and our unscented goat milk and glycerin bars have no added fragrance at all. Those two are what our most sensitive-skinned customers reach for, and we'll always tell you every ingredient on the label.

How do I make a handmade bar last?

Let it drain dry between uses — a draining dish or one of our sisal saver bags roughly doubles its life. A cured bar kept dry outlasts its price difference over the soft stuff.
