How to make your bar last twice as long

Handmade soap is softer than the detergent bars from the store, so a little care makes it last much longer.

1. Keep it dry between uses. A draining soap dish that lets air circulate is the single biggest thing you can do.

2. Keep it out of the direct stream of water. A shelf away from the showerhead keeps it from melting away.

3. Cut big bars in half and swap them out. A resting bar dries and hardens, so two halves used in rotation outlast one bar used continuously.
